On January 16, 2023, the ship sank in the Taiwan Gulf. The ship sent out a distress call while it was 90 nautical miles west of Kaohsiung after the ship began to take on water through damage to the hull. As a result, the ship tipped overboard and sank. All crew members entered the water wearing life jackets and were rescued by a Coast Guard helicopter.
