Responsibilities:

• maintain running and berthing watches; take part in ship work and hull maintenance (including work at height and overboard); be able to perform painting, rigging and sailing work; take part in preparation for cargo operations and their production; clean the deck and ship premises; take part in mooring operations according to the ship's schedule;
• monitor the serviceability of all bilge ladders, o all damage; A sailor may be involved in painting work in machinery spaces after receiving workplace safety instructions.
