On January 21, 2019, a fire occurred on the tanker. The cause of the fire is said to be transportation irregularities. The incident occurred 15 miles south of the Kerch Canal. The ship was at anchor for a long time. There were 16 crew members on the ship, 10 of them died. The tanker was towed to Turkey.

In the spring of 2015, the ship was included in the US sanctions list for transporting gas from Kerch.
