On January 21, 2019, a fire occurred on the tanker, followed by an explosion. The incident occurred 15 miles south of the Kerch Canal. The ship was making a Temryuk voyage to Lebanon. There were 16 crew members on the ship, 10 of them died.

In the spring of 2015, the ship was included in the US sanitary list for transporting gas from Kerch.
