On May 23, 2023, the ship ran aground in the southern part of the Suez Canal, while completely blocking traffic along the canal from the Red Sea. The ship managed to be refloated with the help of tugboats after 4 hours. The reasons for the grounding are not known. It is also not known what damage the ship's hull received. No casualties have been reported.
