On April 24, 2023, after passing mooring trials, during which on-board systems and equipment were checked and adjusted, the vessel Akademik Gubkin enters sea trials to check the readiness for operation of the main and auxiliary engines, as well as life support systems and the navigation complex of the tanker. This is the fourth vessel of the Aframax class. The tanker is named after a Russian scientist.
