To ensure the effective operation of the modern river fleet of the Russian Federation, the government decided to create the Zhatai shipyard, which stands out from the rest of the ship repair complexes and enterprises, with increased and expanded functionality that allows for high-quality shipbuilding and repair of sea and river vessels.

Today, the Zhatai shipyard is a leading shipbuilding complex that ensures high quality development and subsequent construction of ships, using modern advanced shipbuilding technologies and practical high-quality materials.

What exactly makes this shipbuilding complex so effective? What opportunities have shipbuilding in Russia today, thanks to the opening and modernization of the Zhatai shipyard?

Shipbuilding in Russia - focus on the advanced complex

Today, when the Zhatai shipyard can use its full production potential, its capabilities allow for the annual construction of ships, in the amount of 10 river units, which is a fairly high level and indicator. Thanks to such opportunities, this shipyard not only expands the possibilities of shipbuilding in Russia, but will quickly recoup the budget funds invested in its construction. Due to the fact that this federal project was implemented, about 700 people were able to get new jobs with decent wages and the development of the latest shipbuilding technologies. Today, the company provides professional shipbuilding in 2 main areas:

1) River vessels, the displacement of which reaches 1600 tons;

2) River vessels, the displacement of which does not exceed 2000 tons.

Today it is a modern enterprise, which has the main cargo and volume of shipbuilding in Russia, uses the following production facilities and sites for professional work:

Fully complete and equipped units of production enclosures used for assembly of units and units;

The outfitting embankment, which is more than 100 meters long, equipped with a portal crane with a carrying capacity of up to 30 tons;

Paint chambers, in which parts, elements, components and assemblies, are not only painted, but also undergo a drying process that ensures the fixation of the coating on the surface;

Construction workshops, where more subtle shipbuilding and repair work and adjustments are carried out;

The site where the professional reconstruction of the comb-shaped transverse slip is carried out;

Cargo pier, near which the final production work on shipbuilding is underway;

A block of shipyard workshops intended for narrowly focused shipbuilding works for construction and repair;

Block of additional auxiliary production workshops used in narrowly focused works.

Considering that there have been more than 40 years for the leading fleet of the Lena basin, and there simply are no similar enterprises that could take on the load in shipbuilding of this level, experts argue that the Zhatai shipyard will operate at full capacity, with maximum workload, for the next 10-15 years.

Today, a production plan has already been developed, which implies that during this period, shipbuilding in Russia will turn into new river vessels for the country, the approximate number of which should be 130 units. The implementation of such production plans and plans is quite real and achievable, because today there are a number of large and solid customers in the country who are ready to purchase new river vessels. Due to the use of modern shipbuilding technologies, a number of foreign customers and partners who are ready to invest in their purchase are already showing interest in new river ships.

Despite the fact that the Zhatai shipyard is already using leading modern shipbuilding technologies, the management of this enterprise is considering the possibility of introducing digital production technologies in the very near future. A distinctive feature of shipbuilding at the Zhatai shipyard and the introduction of advanced shipbuilding technologies will be the professional construction of dozens of units of the river fleet, which will operate on natural liquefied gas.

Today, the Zhatai shipyard is not only one of the leading and promising enterprises within the country, but also has practically no equal throughout Europe. This gives confidence that soon the number of foreign buyers and investors in domestic river shipbuilding will increase significantly.
