Verkhnekamsk Shipbuilding Complex is one of the oldest enterprises of this industry in the country. It was founded on the basis of the Perm shipyard in 2006. The company is capable of repairing, modernizing and building river and sea vessels of various classes using modern equipment. All types of work are carried out in accordance with state and international standards of quality and safety, as well as the Russian Maritime and River Shipping Registers.



History of the enterprise



In the summer of 1931, the construction of the largest shipbuilding and ship repair enterprise in the Soviet Union at that time began in Perm. In parallel with the laying of the foundation of capital workshops, the construction of a labor camp began. Also, temporary slipways were immediately organized, on which the construction of the first vessel began. It was a towing steamer with an engine with a capacity of 150 liters. from., symbolically named "Perm firstborn."



Ship repair and construction of the first ships in Perm took place in difficult conditions. There were not enough skilled workers and engineering personnel, modern machines and lifting and transport mechanisms. To solve the personnel problem in 1931, a school was organized at the shipyard. And mentoring began to develop in the working teams of the enterprise itself.



Also, to speed up and facilitate the work process at the shipyard, the latest technical developments of that time were introduced. Electric arc welding has been used in shipbuilding since the late 19th century. But it was in Perm that a vessel with a fully welded hull was built in 1933. For 2 years, the new technology was fully mastered and introduced into production. This made it possible to speed up the construction of a typical tug No. 31 for 6 days, reduce labor costs and save about 30% of consumables.



By the beginning of World War II, the shipyard produced more than 180 tugs and boats for various purposes. The development of barges and tugboats for maritime navigation was also begun. Also since 1936, in addition to ship repair and the production of new ships, the company has been mastering additional products - anti-submarine networks. The development and manufacture of networks was carried out in the absence of the necessary knowledge and technology, a severe shortage of workers and production facilities. But during the year, production was established, and by the beginning of the war, new products were put on stream.



During the war years, the Perm shipyard produced and repaired ships for the needs of the front. In subsequent years, the company expanded and modernized. Over the past 30 years, it has repeatedly changed the names and owners, experienced severe crises, but the base for ship repair and production work has been preserved and maintained in good condition. At the moment, the VSK shipyard continues the tradition of the quality and development of shipbuilding in Perm.



Modern capabilities of the VSK plant



Now the Verkhnekamsk Shipbuilding Complex is the only enterprise of this orientation in the Urals. Its development is facilitated by the successful geographical location of the site. There is access to waterways that allow you to reach 5 seas along the largest rivers of the European part of the country. Also through the city is a railway connecting Europe with Asia. In addition, several large highways converge in Perm, which simplifies the logistics of the supply of materials and the shipment of finished products.



At the moment, the shipyard provides the following types of services:

Shipbuilding - a full cycle from development to launching of vessels for various purposes, production facilities allow you to build up to 4 vessels at the same time;

Ship repair - scheduled and overhaul, replacement and modernization of various units and units, maintenance of pumping equipment, pipeline boilers;

Design - development of ship designs in accordance with the customer's turnkey requirements;

Fabrication of steel structures - manufacture of metal supports, beams, bridge elements and fences.



Also, the Perm shipyard takes on work with non-standard floating equipment, special-purpose vessels, mooring facilities.



The company has three building sites, as well as 2 slipways and a boathouse are used in the work. The maximum deadweight of ships produced and repaired can reach 8,000 tons. The dimensions of the slipway are 172x24x17.9 m. Modernized descent and lifting equipment allows you to move ships with a draft of up to 3.5 m, a length of 172 m and a dock weight of up to 3000 tons.



These characteristics allow the FRS plant to produce sea and river tugs of the following types:

The shipyard can also manufacture bulk vessels of the Nefterudovoz type of projects 1553, 1570, 15390 and oil barges of the BN-T type, manufactured according to the 011003V project. Since 2006, Perm has mastered the full cycle of production of dry cargo ships of the Solikamsky type (project 17605), bunker non-self-propelled barges RDB 66.17 and passenger ships RYeGK.002 (Rus Velikaya).
