The Pavlovsky Shipbuilding and Repair Plant originates from the time of Peter I. Back in early 1709, a shipyard was built on the banks of the Osered River, it was from this building that the history of the city of Pavlovsk and the Pavlovsky Shipbuilding and Repair Plant began.
In Peter's times, this shipyard was created for the construction of the latest navy, in those days the Russian Empire fought with the Turks. Just 2 goals after the start of construction of the shipyard (1709), the first 2 ships were launched, as well as 10 vessels for the supply of food.
Today, this enterprise is the oldest in the city. Throughout its long history, the shipyard has practically never stopped, but the best specialists in this region worked for it. Here, not only were ships repaired, but also ships of various types were built, as well as pontoon bridges and crossings were repaired. Most actively, the shipyard developed in the Soviet period.
Despite the fact that in 1921, immediately after the end of the civil war, the enterprise was in decline after 10 years it was completely modernized and launched at full capacity. If in 1921 only 1 manual working lathe remained at the enterprise and all work was carried out manually, then by 1934 the first welded devices came to the enterprises, there was its own power station that gave energy, and the process of replacing manual production with mechanized was launched.
During periods of war, the enterprise was often reoriented. Immediately after the start of World War II, the plant received a number of orders that were intended for the front, they were mortars. In general, during the Great Patriotic War, not only mortars were produced at the Pavlovsk plant, but also car trucks for transporting shells for artillery, as well as anti-tank and anti-personnel grenades. However, the closer the front came to the plant, the more awareness came of the need to evacuate it. As a result, by June 1941, it was decided to dismantle the plant's equipment, and it was decided to flood the entire fleet owned or laid up by the plant. After the territory of the region was liberated from German troops, all ships were raised from the bottom, sent to the plant, where they were restored.
The largest number of orders, as well as ships issued, were from 1947 to 1979. Since 1947, the country's leadership decided on the full-scale construction of metal vessels, the plant team was given a new task of producing ships made of metal.
Until 1969, the production volumes of the plant, both in terms of the construction of ships and in terms of their repair, grew every year. As a result, this year it was decided to call the enterprise not ship repair workshops, but a ship repair plant. And by 1975, production expanded so much that the company received a new name - a shipbuilding and ship repair plant.
It was during this period from 1947 to 1975 that the development of navigation on the rivers of the USSR significantly increased. During this period, more than 400-ton ships of various types, displacement and class were produced at the plant. They were also floating magazines, barges, passenger boats, fuel trucks and tugboats, as well as fire installations. However, the peak of the development of the Pavlovsk plant occurred in 1985-90, during this period it was the construction of new ships that significantly increased. There were from 3 to 4 ships in constant work, these were not only barges and barges, but also traveling ships. But with the arrival of the 90s, the situation at the plant, as well as throughout the country, changed dramatically. However, even taking into account all the twists and turns in the period from 1949 to 1996, the company produced a total of almost 550 ships of various classes, types, compensation and carrying capacity, these are:
376 barges with a capacity of 60 to 600 tons.
29 tugs and 51 pusher tugs.
20 fuel trucks.
7 floating stores and 25 passenger boats.
12 fire fighting units and 19 landing stages.
1 submerged water collection station and 1 CAT.
4 pleasure boats.
During the years of perestroika, the collapse of the USSR and the emergence of a new Russia
During the years of perestroika, the Shipbuilding Plant in Pavlovsk began to produce products that were in demand in a market economy. I had to return to the old projects, produce pontoon bridges, ferry crossings. In addition, the company began to produce equipment for agriculture, it was equipment for the mechanical processing of vegetables. The plant also produced various types of metal structures used in construction and so on. The normal operation of the plant (the launch of the main capacities) was established only with the arrival of the 2000s, it was at this time that state orders began to arrive at the enterprise, and the development of shipping began again. Pavlovsky shipyard today, these are:
Construction of vessels
Defecation and modernization of vessels.
Ship conversion
Repair of vessels
Development of technical documentation for the repair of ships of various classes.
This is a modern enterprise where high-level specialists work, and a wide range of works are performed: welding, cutting, bending, turning, milling, drilling, rolling, and so on.
