A fuel fire occurred on the vessel. 

 

    The vessel was cruising on Lake Salvador in Louisiana. A hydraulic hose ruptured, spraying fuel onto a hot engine, causing a fire in the engine room. 

 

    Three crew members responded quickly to the fire, but were unable to extinguish the flames with standard fire extinguishers. They then evacuated to a neighboring vessel. 

 

    NTSB investigators praised the crew's prompt actions to remove fuel and oxygen sources, which helped limit the damage from the fire and extinguish the flames.
