On December 21, 2023, the tanker suffered an explosion and fire while traveling along the Yangtze River near the Sutong Bridge. There was reportedly no cargo on the ship at the time of the explosion. 22 crew members left the ship on a life raft; no injuries were reported. There is no oil spill.
