On October 25, 2023, the ship and its 25 crew members were rescued from Cyclone Hamun. The vessel wrapped its own mooring lines around the propeller and lost the ability to maneuver while the R/V was in the middle of the Bay of Bengal. A salvage tug of the Indian Coast Guard pulled the vessel to the port of Paradip.
