On September 27, 2023, the District Attorney's Office announced that the sailor did not survive.

On September 26, 2023, one crew member fell overboard while the ship was near Boston Harbor. The circumstances of the fall are unknown. The sailor was found unconscious by a fishing boat and taken ashore.
