On May 10, 2023, the ship collided with a ferry pier on an island on the island of Ternate. The ferry makes regular flights between Bastion Pier, on the island of Ternate, and the neighboring island of Tidore. What damage the ferry received is not known. Pierce was badly damaged. There were no passengers on the ferry at the time of the incident.
