On July 7, 2023, the ship crashed into Pier 27 at the Port of San Francisco. The incident happened while the cruise ship was docking. The pier was also damaged on the hull of the liner, on which a hole remained in the stern. Laner was completing a 10 day cruise around Alaska. At the time of the collision, there were 3,328 passengers and 1,159 crew members on board. There are no reports of casualties.
On March 6, 2023, a mass gastrointestinal illness of passengers was detected on the ship. It is reported that about 200 people out of 2880 passengers and 20 crew members out of 1160 people suffered with symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has launched an investigation into the case.
