On November 13, 2022, there was a blackout of the ship in the South China Sea, near Luzon. The ship lay in the dray for 2 days. The problem was in the power distribution unit. The tug Salvage Rigger came to the aid of the research vessel and dragged it to the port of Kaohsiung, China.
