On January 31, 2024, the ship was freed from ice captivity by the Bering Strait tugboat.
On January 29, 2024, the ship was blocked in ice in the Sea of Okhotsk while making a voyage from Kamchatka to Nakhodka. The tanker issued a distress signal approximately 24 km from Hokkaido island. The Japanese rescue service sent an icebreaker, which failed to free the ship from captivity before dark. The rescue operation will continue on January 30. No casualties were reported.
