On February 29, 2024, a fire occurred on the icebreaker while it was in the large port of St. Petersburg. The ship was out of service at the time of the incident. The fire occurred in a storage room on the first deck, in which welding work was carried out. 12 pieces of equipment and 46 firefighters fought the fire. No casualties were reported.
