After 45 days of being held in Charleston, South Carolina, a container ship has been cleared by the US Coast Guard to leave port.

As it left port, the US Coast Guard requested that three tugboats accompany the vessel. Security measures were not relaxed after the vessel underwent repairs and testing at the berth.

An investigation revealed that the main cause of the incident was the disconnection of the main engine control line. In addition to the arrest, a US court also briefly detained the vessel in Charleston, pending a court case. Where it was alleged that the vessel damaged a dock and a neighboring vessel to the tune of $500,000. Details of the incident were not disclosed.
