India: Heavy fire on container ship

On July 19, 2024,

the MAERSK Frankfurt issued a distress signal

when it was 190 nautical miles off the coast of India, Goa. A large fire broke out among the containers on the ship. Four Indian Coast Guard vessels have been trying to extinguish the fire for 40 hours.

There is information about one death from the ship's crew.
