The Department of Continuing Professional Education was created to organize and implement educational activities for additional professional programs. 

    The main activity of the department is training in advanced training programs and additional professional programs for training maritime specialists, including in accordance with the requirements of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978, as amended, the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships. 

    To implement educational activities, the department has developed educational and methodological complexes for the declared training programs, as well as all the necessary infrastructure:

- classrooms for conducting theoretical classes

- classrooms equipped with simulators for practical training;
