The history of this museum dates back to 1709. Also in the history of this museum there is another very important date - 1805. It was this year that the museum was created, called the "Maritime Museum," and later the museum was named after Great Peter 1.

During the events of the Second World War, in order to preserve all the exhibits, they were taken to Ulyanovsk.

All collections available in the Central Naval Museum named after Emperor Peter the Great are direct evidence of the greatness of the Russian Fleet.

The collection of this museum has about 700,000 exhibitions. They include: works of fine art, cold and firearms, models of ships, etc.
