JSC "Central Marine Design Bureau "Almaz" was founded in 1949. During this period, a large number of design organizations of the Russian shipbuilding industry were built.

The structure included:

- Combat surface ships of small and medium displacement;

- Landing ships on an air cushion;

- Mine defense ships;

- Special-purpose ships and vessels;

- Floating docks and other types of marine equipment for military and civilian purposes.

According to the designs of the Central Marine Design Bureau "Almaz", more than 26 thousand combat boats, vessels and ships were built. About 40 countries of the world have boats and ships built according to the Almaz design in their fleets.

Today, the Central Marine Design Bureau "Almaz" has developed and offers on the national and world markets a wide range of projects of ships, boats and vessels for civilian purposes.

Thanks to the Bureau and its projects, magnificent combat and seaworthy boats were built, which successfully participated in numerous anti-submarine, convoy and landing operations in the Baltic, Black Sea and in the North during the Great Patriotic War.
