International Maritime Organization (IMO) - International Maritime Organization (IMO) was founded in 1958 according to the Convention, developed in 1948 at the UN Maritime Conference in Geneva. Until 1982, it was called the Intergovernmental Maritime Advisory Organization. IMO is one of the UN specialized agencies.
