The submarine Д-2 Narodovolets is a great submarine that has been in service for 25 years, participated in the Great Patriotic War. According to the term of service, there is not a single equal submarine in our fleet.
During the war, the submarine Д-2 sent a German ship to the bottom, and a little later another ship caused serious damage. The uniqueness of the submarine is that during the period of its construction at the Baltic plant there was no electric welding, and therefore now you can notice a riveted strong hull.
Another very interesting fact about this submarine is that the torpedoes in it did not have homing systems. Therefore, each time the torpedo was launched, the commander himself chose the direction.
Now, in St. Petersburg, the submarine Д-2 Narodovolets works as a museum in which you can see how it is arranged.
