The main purpose of the department of additional education for children of the St. Petersburg Maritime Academy named after Admiral D.N. Senyavin is:

- formation and development of creative abilities of students, realizing individual needs for intellectual, moral and physical improvement;

- assistance in professional self-determination, development of interest in maritime affairs, strengthening of Russian maritime traditions and formation of patriotic consciousness;
