In 1928, a project was developed for the construction of the Liski marina, in accordance with which an artificial backwater (bucket) was dug, office and production premises were erected at the created unsealed elevations of the territory, and equipment for mechanizing loading and unloading operations first appeared on the walls of the backwater.

Having built a marina, river workers intensively began to increase the volume of transportation along the river, by 1965 their volume reached 629 thousand tons of various cargoes. But this is a limit that could be reached with the technical characteristics of the marina at that time. And river workers are going for the largest reconstruction of their head enterprise. The walls of the backwater dress in concrete, modern transshipment equipment, the latest fleet appears.

In 1981, for the first time, they crossed the 3 million line of annual cargo processing, and in 1989, they first overcame the 2 million volume of cargo transportation in a section in one navigation. The quality indicators of river workers also grew.

Today, Liskinsky port is one of the largest river transport enterprises in the upper Don and performs many important functions in the entire Volga-Don basin.
