Over its 60-year history, the Kotlas port has achieved a significant increase in traffic volumes, and according to changes in the volume of processing and departure of goods, this period can be conditionally divided into three stages. The first, from 1942 to 1990, is a constant increase in performance. The second, from 1991 to 1997, is a decline in work volumes. The third stage, from 1998 to 2001, is a slight increase and stabilization.
The activities of the port will now largely depend on cargo carriers, that is, on the shipping company PSA, on the balance of which the fleet is located.
In order to be clear on the future, an agreement has been concluded that provides for the conditions for providing the port with goods for processing. With such guarantees, the port will be able to solve social problems, such as wage growth, improving working conditions and living conditions of port workers.
