The International Chamber of Shipping is the main international industrial association of owners and operators of merchant ships, representing all sectors of trade of the world merchant fleet. Members of the International Chamber of Shipping are national associations of shipowners in Asia, Europe, South and North America.

The International Chamber of Shipping was founded in 1921 and deals with technical and legal issues, as well as employment issues and the formation of international shipping policy.

The International Chamber of Shipping is working hard to ensure that shipowners implement internationally approved standards for shipping documents as well as all kinds of navigation manuals.
