The Northern Sea Route, about 3,024 nautical miles long, is the only shipping route in the Arctic. It passes through the seas of the Arctic Ocean. It begins with the Kara Gate and the end point of the route is the Bay of Conduct. On the sea route are the Ports of Russia for river-sea class vessels, including Harasaway. It mainly receives cargo for the development of the Bovanenkovsky oil and gas condensate field, which is located 70 km from the customs post of the port of Harasaway.
The Harasaway Commercial Seaport bears the eponymous name of the Cape on the western shore of the Yamal Peninsula. More precisely, it is located at a distance of 642.9 km north of Tyumen. The start of construction of the port dates back to 2007. Although the first on Harasaway was the Kara expedition back in 1995. A shift camp is adjacent to the port. A local landmark is a torch that has been burning for 30 years and symbolizes wealth - natural gas hidden in the permafrost zone. In good weather, the torch is visible for tens of kilometers. The work of the Harasaway seaport carries both regional and state importance for the transport infrastructure of the Russian Federation, as it connects the Trans-Siberian railway with the Northern Sea Route.
Harasaway Portopoint: Statistics
An access channel for tankers 250 meters wide and about 4.5 km long is equipped to the port of Harasaway village. As for the internal water area, it increases in diameter to 1.5 km. The port has 10 berths for economic cargo, building materials, dredgers. The remaining 6 berths were created for the shipment of containers, piece cargoes and petroleum products. Near each there are floating cranes with a capacity of 5 and 16 tons. Of course, not all Seaports in Russia, but Harasaway is not designed to receive large-tonnage ships.
The creation of industrial facilities, such as the Harasaway portopoint, is hampered by complex geocryological conditions:
the impressive thickness of the permafrost layer;
high soil salinity;
a unique but harsh Arctic climate.
A pressing issue with Harasaway Seaport Authority issues is the lack of representation of the Port Master Service. Also in open sources there is no official website of the port of Harasaway.

If we consider summer navigation, the port receives river barges mainly from Arkhangelsk and Murmansk. In winter, it is more connected with the village of Bovanenko, where goods are supplied by the Gazpromtrans railway. Personnel are transported to the port by air transport. A helipad is located on the territory. Hostels and other infrastructure are also provided for employees in the village.
In winter roads, ships stop about 5-6 km from the coast. Shift workers organize an ice road in advance for receiving goods, clearing it of snow every day. Cracks in ice are overlapped by iron structures.
The port is combined with a natural gas field. Therefore, residential complexes are located on the coastal zone for those who come to work on a watch at the port point or in Harasaway.
