The seaport is located in Gelendzhik Bay, located 2 miles from Rybatskaya Bay, which goes ashore between Cape Tonky and Cape Tolstoy, located 1 mile from it.

Currently, the seaport of Gelendzhik is an international port with a round-the-clock work schedule and access for: passenger ships, displacement up to 3,500 tons, a long 114 meters and draft of 3.8 meters and ships of the RO-RO type, when mooring stern to the pier, a long 150m and draft of 4.2 meters.

The presence of river valleys cutting through mountain ranges creates conditions for the emergence of local strong and cold northeastern winds of Bora.

In the area of ​ ​ the Gelendzhik Bay, the Bora wind is characterized by wind speeds over 14 meters per second, in some cases up to 40 meters per second, low air temperatures and a significant duration.

The seaport of Gelendzhik is not a seaport refuge, as the bay is open.

Navigation in the seaport is carried out year-round.

Carries out operations with general cargo, with the exception of all types of dangerous goods.
