Baltsudoproekt - branch of the Central Research Institute named after. acad. A.N. Krylova
Central Design Bureau "Baltsudoroekt" celebrated its 90th anniversary since its formation, which is part of the FSUE "Krylov State Scientific Center". But the date of creation of the Central Design Bureau in the country and in the shipbuilding industry is considered to be September 14, 1925.
Central Design Bureau "Baltsudoproekt" is a leading design bureau in the domestic shipbuilding industry.
In 1999, the bureau became part of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Central Research Institute named after Academician A.N. Krylov" as a branch, and in 2008 it was transformed into its department.
Over the course of 90 years, more than 2,600 ships and shipbuilding facilities were built according to TsKB designs.
Projects completed for the Navy:
- Patrol ships,
- Modernization of the heavy cruiser,
- Minesweepers
- Submarine hunting boats,
- Torpedo boats,
- Floating base of submarines and torpedo boats,
- Hospital, keel vessel,
- Floating workshops, water tankers,

Over the past 10 years, 15 vessels, ships and marine equipment have been built according to the designs developed by the Central Design Bureau.
The most successful:
- Multifunctional diesel-electric icebreakers “Moscow” and “St. Petersburg” of a new class. For 5 years, these icebreakers have been providing support for large-capacity vessels up to 50 meters wide in the waters of the Gulf of Finland.
Currently, three diesel-electric icebreakers “Vladivostok”, “Murmansk” and “Novorossiysk” are being built.
- the unique semi-submersible drilling rigs of the new generation are “Polar Star” and “Northern Lights”, they are one of the most modern and largest in the world in their class.
Today, the Central Design Bureau uses the most modern computer-aided design systems, which, combined with highly qualified employees, as well as reliance on the scientific and experimental base of the FSUE Krylov State Scientific Center, allows the Central Design Bureau to complete any task assigned to the Central Design Bureau and remain one of the leading design bureaus in the field of designing ships and marine equipment.
