The Balaklava underground museum complex is one of the most unusual museums in Sevastopol. All its peculiarity is that the complex was not always a museum. During the Cold War, the two great powers of the USSR and the USA tried to break ahead at the expense of the invention of nuclear weapons.

In the USSR, for a very long time they searched for a place where submarines could be hidden for a retaliatory nuclear strike. After a long search, the choice was made in favor of a city called Balaklava. This choice was made not only because of the quiet and calm place in Mount Tavros, but also because such a large-scale complex would not be visible from the high seas.

In the Balaklava underground museum complex, you can see exhibitions dedicated to the history of the Navy, about the underwater forces of the Black Sea Fleet of the USSR, as well as about the military and political aspects of the Cold War.

Due to this history of creation, this museum is periodically called the "Cold War Museum."

This museum can be considered absolute uniqueness. It arouses interest in virtually all people, and of course in people who in the future want to connect their life with a marine career.
