The museum tells the story of the navigation of America, the museum contains many historical artifacts related to the US merchant fleet.

In addition to historical artifacts, the museum contains collections of marine art and memorabilia.

The museum instills appreciation in visitors for the significant contribution made by the naval services, as well as USMMA graduates in peacetime and wartime.
