Isthmus Bureau of Shipping(ClassIBS)

The Classification Society Isthmus Bureau of Shipping (ClassIBS), founded in Panama in 1995, is a member of the International Association of Technical Surveyors of Classification Institutions (TSCI).

The main work of the Company's highly qualified technical personnel consists in checking compliance of the merchant ships and marine structures submitted to it with the Rules established by the Company for design, construction and periodic inspection.

The commitment to the ClassIBS quality of shipping, as well as its commitment to the continuous improvement of state port control (PSC), are an important continuous goal for society. Several components were adopted, including:

• Maintain contact with relevant memoranda

• Specific actions with vessels showing increased delay

• Improved monitoring process for each detention, especially those attributed to ClassIBS by PSC.
