    The Central Design and Technology Institute was founded on August 24, 1954, as part of the Main Directorate of Ship Repair Yards of the Navy. The organization was founded with the mission of serving as a scientific and technical center, as well as developing design documentation for other naval units involved in the repair, modernization, and refit of ships and vessels.



    In 1961, the Central Design and Technology Bureau of the Navy was designated "Military Unit 15116" by order. The technical department was the first to develop standard repair lists for new ships of these projects.





    In the 1960s, the USSR began supplying and developing new equipment to countries, including ships and vessels for their navies. These countries included Cuba, Poland, Korea, Algeria, India, Egypt, and Iraq.



    On July 1, 1959, the Navy Design and Technology Organization was established to develop technical and technological documentation for ship repair. The institute officially began operations on January 1, 1980, employing 1,000 people.



    Currently, the institute has developed numerous documents necessary for the repair of 197 ship and vessel designs.





    Standard repair lists for shipyard repairs have also been created.





    Today, the institute is tasked with additional functions and projects for Navy ships and vessels.
